Keynote Speaker

Matthew Leonard

Nationally known keynote speaker Matthew Leonard will take high-level ideas about faith and theology, and explain them in an easy-to-understand way, so we can become the men God calls us to be. He has starred in videos with Scott Hahn at the St. Paul Center. You may have heard his podcast called The Art of Catholic or enjoyed his many radio and television interviews on EWTN, Relevant Radio, CBS, and more. Pulpit talk (If you get a chance to speak in front of your parish, here is a sample script):

“Good morning!

My name is (insert name), and I’m here today as a Champion for the upcoming Catholic Men’s Conference on Saturday, Feb. 25th, at Springfield Catholic High School.

To the men here today, you NEED to be there. Last year’s conference had nearly 400 attendees, and the feedback was extremely positive. We’re trying to make this year even better!

Why go? It’s an opportunity to deepen your faith and strengthen your relationship with God. We will start with Mass at 8 am and promise to have you out by 3:30. You will hear exciting and challenging presentations, including our keynote speaker Matthew Leonard. We will provide lunch and fun interactive activities. There will also be opportunities for confession and Eucharistic Adoration. And did I mention it’s FREE? But you have to register to save your spot. So why wouldn’t you go?

Ladies, while you can’t attend the Catholic Men’s Conference, you play a crucial role. Please encourage every man in your life to go! Don’t forget the power of an elbow to the ribs when encouraging a man to do something that is good for him. (Make the motion of elbowing to the side) So don’t let him down. The man who returns after the conference will be different from the man who left that morning. I promise!

If you haven’t already received a flier, we will be handing them out after Mass. Use the QR code to register online quickly. And I will be available to answer any questions or to help you to get registered. Again, the Catholic Men’s Conference is Saturday, Feb. 25th, at Springfield Catholic High School. Don’t miss it!

Be part of something special

About

This event is organized by lay volunteers in cooperation with the diocesan Office of Evangelization.

The annual diocesan Catholic Men’s Conference has the following purposes:

  1. Equip men to effectively engage in spiritual warfare through intellectual, emotional, and spiritual growth by providing fellowship, talks, and prayer.
  2. Offer men further faith formation and spiritual support opportunities outside of the conference.
  3. Inspire men to concrete acts of evangelization and service in the family, workplace, and parish.

It is an annual conference and open to all men in the diocese.
